The Pololu Dual MC33926 Motor Driver for Raspberry Pi (Partial Kit) is an expansion board designed to enable a compatible Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer) to control two brushed DC motors. It utilizes dual MC33926 motor drivers, which operate within a voltage range of 5 V to 28 V, delivering a continuous current of 3 A per motor, with a peak capacity of 5 A. The board is equipped with a reverse battery protection circuit and logic gates to minimize the number of I/O pins required for effective control.

This partial kit version includes all surface-mount components pre-installed, while the through-hole connectors are provided but not soldered. The board's default configuration employs six GPIO pins for motor control, leveraging the Raspberry Pi's hardware PWM outputs, with two additional pins for reading driver status outputs. Users have the flexibility to customize pin mappings and access other control inputs and outputs for advanced applications.

The board adheres to the Raspberry Pi HAT mechanical specifications, although it lacks an ID EEPROM. It is not compatible with the original Raspberry Pi Model A or Model B due to pinout and form factor differences. The board also features motor indicator LEDs, a prototyping space, and robust drivers with transient operation capabilities and protection against over-current and over-temperature conditions.

Note: This product can become hot enough to cause burns; handle with care.

  • 1x 2×20-pin 0.1″ female header
